"How has your journey with CF shaped the problems you want to solve and the impact you hope to have on others?"
I used to think that Cystic Fibrosis held me back, but as I have gotten older, I have realized that I would not be who I am today without it. What once felt like a limitation has become one of the most important influences in shaping my perspective and my goals. I was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis at birth, a genetic condition that primarily affects the lungs and digestive system by causing thick mucus buildup in the body. Managing it requires constant care and attention to my health every day. Because of this, I have learned to be deeply aware of my body and how it responds to different challenges. My daily treatment routines are not optional, they are essential. Over time, this has instilled a strong sense of responsibility and discipline. I have learned that taking care of myself is not something I can delay or ignore, but something I must commit to everyday. Whether it is completing airway clearance treatments, taking medications, or staying consistent with medical appointments, I have learned the importance of consistency in maintaining my health. Managing my condition has also made me more independent. From keeping track of treatments to advocating for my own needs. I have learned to actively care and manage my health from a young age. These responsibilities have taught me how to be organized, self-aware, and proactive in ways that extend beyond my condition. Living with Cystic Fibrosis has also made me more intentional about how to take care of my body. I have learned how important nutrition, exercise, and daily routines are in supporting my health, even when they can be challenging to maintain consistently. These experiences have shown me that caring for my body is an ongoing process that requires effort, patience, and commitment. Although Cystic Fibrosis is a part of my life, it does not define who I am. Instead, it motivates me to live to my fullest potential and to appreciate what I am capable of achieving. I hope to inspire others with Cystic Fibrosis to not feel limited by their condition, but to recognize their strength and continue pursuing their goals, even when their condition feels overwhelming. I want to show that it is possible to live a full meaningful life, even in the face of challenges.
